The Periphery Guitar Solo Contest: Win a PRS Mark Holcomb SE Guitar!

Guitar solo contest are always fun; in the past, when we’ve given you all the opportunities to record your own solos over songs by Red FangMarty Friedman and High on Fire the results have been mighty impressive. Turns out MetalSucks readers a damn talented bunch!

So we’re doing it again with perhaps our biggest guitar solo contest to date: we’ve teamed up with Gear Gods, PRS Guitars and Periphery to offer one lucky player the opportunity to win a Mark Holcomb SE, which was just announced this week!

Entering is easy: simply download this version of Periphery’s new track “The Price is Wrong” with the solo stripped out, record your own solo on top of it, then upload it to the official contest Soundcloud group. Winning, not as easy: you’ll have to impress the man himself, Periphery guitarist Mark Holcomb, as he’ll be the one sorting through the entries and picking his favorite.

This contest will remain open until July 29th, 2016 at 11:59pm EDT. Contest is open only to residents of the U.S. (sorry — shipping is expensive and customs can be a pain). Please read the official rules before submitting an entry.

Good luck and good shred to you! For comparison, we’ve posted the album version of “The Price is Wrong” below with Mark’s solo included. Periphery III: Select Difficulty comes out July 22nd on Sumerian Records.
