Back in April, it was announced that Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan would be releasing a new book called A Perfect Union of Contrary Things, which is meant to catalogue the “outtakes” from the singer’s long and storied career. Which means that hopefully, we’ll get to read some weird tales about dancing naked in the vineyard or fighting Meshuggah atop the Hammersmith or whatever.

Well, now it’s been revealed that Maynard will not only be releasing the book, he’ll be touring for it. He’ll be reading sections of the book, take part in a moderated discussion about his life, show off some never-before-seen photos and videos, and do a Q&A with the audience.

Given how hardcore Tool fans are, these appearances will no doubt be total shitshows of insufferable retardation. As Blabbermouth points out, Maynard does not do a ton of one-on-one interaction with his fans and has to a certain extent kept his private life out of the spotlight, so this will give Tool fans a rare opportunity to ask Maynard the questions that burn away at their souls shortly before they’re skipped over by a moderator or escorted out by security.

Check out a trailer for the book below. Only two dates on the tour have been announced so far, 11/9 at Nashville’s City Winery and 11/16 at Thalia Hall in Chicago. Tickets go on sale Friday, so be poised at your computer then.
