Watch Video of Prophets of Rage Performing and Protesting at the Republican National Convention

One criticism I’ve seen commonly leveled against the members of Rage Against the Machine I do not understand one bit: “Those fuckers got so rich from the system as it is, and they have their nice houses and cars, and they’re still protesting? Fuck them!”

If anything, the fact that they’re still fighting despite the system having treated them well makes them EVEN MORE BAD ASS. These are people who have benefitted from immense privilege and yet still have the fire and passion to fight for those who haven’t. And what’s more, they’re well past the age where people of any socioeconomic status often lose that edge and they’re STILL FUCKING DOING IT. In the streets. No rockstar BS.

Anyway, Prophets of Rage — featuring the three instrumental members of Rage Against the Machine plus Public Enemy’s Chuck D and Cypress Hill’s B Real on vocals — have made quite a hullabaloo about the fact that they planned to perform multiple concerts and join in protests at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland this week, and they’ve made good on that promise. There’s plenty of footage out there of both the shows and the protests, and here are a few clips reposted from Loudwire.

If you want to catch Prophets of Rage on a proper stage in your town, check out dates for their massive summer tour.
