The Agonist’s New Song is Off “The Chain”

My fellow lovers of NWOAHM (well, really, NWONAHM, but still), I come bearing good news: The Agonist have announced that they’ll release a new album, Five, in September… and they’ve released a single from that album, “The Chain.”

The song, it goes without saying, rocks. But it’s also highly relevant to the world’s current state of political disconsonance, making references to “The City of Seven Hills” (that would be Rome) and imploring “Lady Liberty” to “put down your fiddle and take a good long look.” The implication, obviously, is that America — the modern day Rome — is burning. And it feels hard to argue with that assertion right now.

Check out “The Chain” below. Five comes out on September 30 via Napalm. Pre-order it here. The band has a TON of tour dates coming up, too, in Europe, Canada, and The States. Check out the entire itinerary at the bottom of this post.
