Fanmade Metallica Pokémon Video Goes Viral, Real Metallica Shares Details About UpcomingBack to the Front Book

0

It never ceases to amaze me how much time Metallica fans seem to have on their hands. Someone has decided to painstakingly sync live Metallica footage with a cover of the Pokémon theme song. The cover, originally done by the Redeemers, is a pretty good true-to-form version of the theme that began every episode of the popular animated series. Regardless, it’s interesting seeing Metallica footage being put in the background. Even though it’s not new material, and even though it’s not even actually Metallica, I’m pretty sure we can all agree that it’s better than “Lords of Summer.”

In other news: Lars Ulrich posted a video discussing the band’s new book, Metallica: Back to the Front. The book was written by Matt Taylor — who has been spending a lot of time with the band over the past couple of years — and looks at pretty much every event that led to the recording of their beloved album, Master of Puppets. Lars also points out that the book is actually a “paperweight,” and comes with “full color, crazy pictures, and all kinds of nutty… stuff.” Fantastic selling points.

If you’re interested, check out the video below for more details. You can pre-order the book here in both a deluxe and standard hardcover edition. The deluxe is out August 30th, while the standard edition will be released September 13th.
