Killswitch Engage’s Jesse Leach Ghost Wrote Lyrics for Corpsegrinder in Serpentine Dominion Supergroup

Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach has revealed that he ghost wrote some lyrics for George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher on the upcoming self-titled album by Serpentine Dominion. The super group features the talents of Adam Dutkiewicz (guitarist, Killswitch Engage) and Shannan Lucas (drums, ex-Black Dahlia Murder) in addition to Fisher.

Leach shared his thoughts on writing lyrics dark enough to be ejected from Corpsegrinder’s neck in a recent Instagram post:

“So I wrote some of the darkest lyrics of my career! I was originally hired as a ghost writer but the boys decided to out me (I’m secretly really stoked they did)! What an absolute HONOR to be a part of this project! This album is just next level! If you would have told a 16 year old me I’d be writing lyrics for George from Monstrosity (better known now for his work in Cannibal Corpse) I would have lost my mind! Still kind of geeking out about it! Head over to Metalblade.com for more details. All hails! The power of these three musicians combined is a force to be reckoned with! Just wait…its MASSIVE!”

If the first single is a harbinger of what’s to come, then I think it’s safe to say this record could be a real crowd-pleaser. The self-titled album comes out on October 28th via Metal Blade Records. You can pre-order it here.

Just wait…its MASSIVE! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼 The origins of Serpentine Dominion can be traced back to 2009′s Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival, which boasted a line-up that included Killswitch Engage, Cannibal Corpse, and The Black Dahlia Murder. During that fateful summer, Killswitch Engage guitarist Adam Dutkiewicz made a proposition to Cannibal Corpse vocalist George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher: “George, I want to write you a record.” On the Mayhem Fest tour, Shannon Lucas, who performed with The Black Dahlia Murder through 2012, was tapped to record drums on the album. Between 2009 and 2016, Cannibal Corpse and Killswitch Engage released three albums each, so scheduling time to work on Serpentine Dominion was no easy feat – but when their rigorous schedules allowed, Serpentine Dominion began to come together, with Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach penning the lyrics, which touch on corruption within the government, religion, big business, and other timely issues. Ultimately, though, this debut is a pure passion project; it was written and recorded simply for why musicians get into music in the first place: fun.
