I’ve never seen Kayo Dot live, and that is a failure on my part. The band is the kind of Heavy as Fuck and Weird as Hell that probably translates really well to a live setting, and maybe sounds better live than it does on an album, where a volume knob can tame the beast.

So I’m excited to post that the band has just announced a slew of live shows, including a New York show. the short stint in support of their new album Plastic House on Base of Sky, which isn’t quite as utterly destructive as their old material but still has a lot going for it. Fans of Author & Punisher should definitely make it out and see these guys do their thing.

Get your brain stirred up at one of the dates below, and check out the band’s track “Magnetism” beneath it.

October 22 Toronto, ON @ Baby G
October 23 Chicago, IL @ Cobra Lounge
October 24 Des Moines, IA @ Vaudeville Mews
October 27 Austin, TX @ Lost Well
November 1 Raleigh, NC @ Neptunes
November 2 Richmond, VA @ Strange Matter
November 4 New York, NY @ Trans-Pecos
November 5 Philadelphia, PA @ Kung Fu Necktie
