Sabaton have announced that their next North American headlining run will kick off on in 2017, on the bestyetworst day of the year. The trek is dubbed “The Last Tour.” You may assume, as I initially did, that the tour has this name because it’s a farewell tour, but you’d assume wrong. It’s actually just because their most recent album is called The Last Stand. PHEW!

Bassist Pär Sundström says of the tour, “Finally, after 4 tours in a row supporting other bands, the time is right for us to turn the tables and headline.” Which is a weird way to put it. Are the bands that Sabaton previously opened for now opening for Sabaton? Because if they’re not, no tables have been turned. Just saying.
