A little while ago I wrote about Spotlights, a married couple based out of NY that released an album back in May called Tidals. It was one of the most memorable albums of the year if you like your sludge to be the consistency of a tar pit served with a side of dreamscape. But if that wasn’t enough for you the duo is back with a great way to cap off 2016.

Their new EP is called Spiders and it’s a collection of three tracks: a cover of a Mew song called “She Spider,” a track of reworked older material, and a remix done by Isis drummer Aaron Harris of the Tidals track “Joseph.”

It’s a short listen — a collection of material that sounds different enough from this year’s prior release — and if you were a fan of anything I’ve posted by them before then I’m sure you’ll find something to love in their new effort. Check out the embedded stream down below. If you’re interested, you can purchase the Spiders EP on their Bandcamp page.
