Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats Online Merch Store Robbed… by a Friend

0

Normally when we report on band theft, it’s incidents occurring out on the road. But now we’re moving into new territory: this time we’re bringing you a story about an online robbery.

It seems Uncle Acid & The Deadbeats, one of modern psych rock’s most beloved acts, trusted a friend to handle their online merch store. That trust may not have been confidently placed, because it seems said friend absconded with thousands of dollars in merchandise and profits. Here’s their official statement released a few days ago via Facebook:

MERCH STORE: A lot of you have been asking what is going on with our merch store. In short; the friend who we trusted to run the band website has disappeared with thousands of dollars worth of our stock and band merch profits. This is now a legal matter so no further comment will be made.

In the meantime, please bear with us while we start over again. A new site will be up and running in the coming weeks.

The good news is that they’re obviously aware of who the culprit was and can easily take it to the authorities, which is exactly what is happening. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on details as they unfold but in the meantime, we sincerely hope that these guys can recoup their losses and get back on their feet.
