Stream the New Suicide Silence Track “Silence” (Trigger Warning: Lots of Clean Vocals!)

Even more crazy than the fact that the entire metalnets has its undies all knotted over two clean-sung notes in the first single from Suicide Silence’s new album, “Doris,” is the fact that it’s just one song. It feels as if this argument has been raging forever, and yet the promo cycle has only just begun.

The band has finally released another new song called “Silence,” and hooooo boy… if “Doris” upset you, this one is likely to send you into seizure: most of the song’s vocals are clean-sung by Eddie Hermida.

And my opinion of new Suicide Silence is unchanged: this song rules. It’s easily the most interesting thing the band has done in years! They’re taking risks. Trying new things. Not giving a fuck about alienating their old fans. This is evolution, not pandering; it’s what every band should be doing, conceptually speaking.

All the photos in the accompanying video clip were shot by one Randy Blythe of Lamb of God. His photos adorn the album’s artwork, too.

“Silence” will appear on Suicide Silence’s new, self-titled album, which comes out February 24 on Nuclear Blast. Pre-order it here. West Coast fans can catch the band on a special album release tour with Plague Vendor; dates here.

In case you missed it: Suicide Silence took over the MetalSucks Facebook page last week for a video live stream, and responded to all the terrible things you all have been saying about them. It’s a must watch!
