Hey Look, It’s a Metal Cover of the Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive”

Our first taste of Tragedy — the “all-metal tribute to the Bee Gees and beyond” — saw them tackling “You’re The One That I Want” from Grease, as made famous by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John.

Now it’s back to the roots, with a rockin’ metal take on perhaps the Bee Gees most well-known song: “Stayin’ Alive.”

The video, which was shot under the Broadway “El” in south Williamsburg, looks eerily like a time capsule to the 1970s when Bushwick was quite literally on fire; it’s not that the band tried hard or spent a ton of money to do so… they just dressed up in era-appropriate garb and the rest took care of itself. As for their stage outfits, well, I don’t know quite which era they’re trying to evoke — any era in which it was cool to ROCK, it seems — but it works, and their live shows look like quite the good time, almost like a Steel Panther for disco.

Tragedy’s latest album The Joy of Sex is available here.
