Metallica Appear in “Carpool Karaoke” Commercial

0

Late last year Metallica joined comedian Billy Eichner inside the Hollywood-area supermarket Gelson’s to perform a karaoke version of “Enter Sandman,” much to the delight of both the guy at the deli meat counter and Metallica fans the word over. Later on it was revealed that the shoot was for the new show Carpool Karaoke, a spin-off of James Corden’s popular bit on The Late Late Show being produced by Apple Music.

A commercial just aired during the 59th Annual Grammy Awards for Carpool Karaoke featuring Metallica as well as Will Smith, Shaquille O’Neal, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Blake Shelton and other guests slated for the show. All four members of ‘Tallica are shown inside a car singing along to “Master of Puppets” with comedian Billy Eichner, who is one of the rotating cast of hosts/drivers on the series.

The commercial was the second instance of “Puppets” on the Grammy broadcast: earlier in the night the Grammy house band played the track while Megadeth strode to the stage to collect their award for “Best Metal Performance.”
