Body Count’s Ice-T Calls Donald Trump a “Motherfucker” and “The Ultimate Con Artist”

To the surprise of absolutely no one, rapper, actor, Body Count frontman, and “Cop Killer” lyricist Ice-T is not a fan of Donald Trump. The O.G. Original Gangster tells Playboy:

“I think we all were surprised that Trump won, because dude be lying. He’s a motherfucker. He didn’t never show his taxes. He’s the ultimate con artist. He’s the kind of rich person, when people say they don’t like rich people—that’s what they mean. I know Richard Branson, I know Mark Cuban—billionaires that you can sit up and kick it with. But Trump is an elitist. He’s a demagogue. And yeah, it’s scary, man. He’s got a lot of power. I come from the gang world, you know. You can’t just be talking shit and think the other gangs don’t hear you. You can’t talk the way he talks and think the rest of the world doesn’t see him as their enemy. Once the dude told the world, ‘I’m smarter than the generals,’ I knew we were up shit’s creek. But I predict his own supporters will turn on him in six to eight months. So let’s just cross our fingers.”

At this rate, I’m not sure it will even take Trump’s supporters six months to turn on him. But when Ice-T compares Trump’s big mouth to that of rival gang leaders, it sounds like he’s implying that Trump’s supporters abandoning him may be the least of his troubles. Or, put another way:

Thing is, whether Trump’s approval rating continues to plummet or the Republicans finally grow a spine and stop cooperating with him or he’s impeached or some foreign government, um, intervenes (which, to be clear, I am NOT endorsing)… none of these are really “clean solutions” (if you consider them solutions at all) that are gonna fix all the problems he’s creating. I’m not saying “Fuck it, let’s keep Trump for eight years because we’re already fucked,” I’m just pointing out that there’s no end to this story where the Rebels blow up the Death Star and the Empire immediately crumbles and we all get to have a massive rave with Ewoks. Getting Trump out of office is the first step on the road to victory — not victory itself.

You can read the entire interview here. Elsewhere in the chat, Ice-T discusses the controversy that surrounded “Cop Killer” upon its release twenty-plus years ago, and parallels to the song “Civil War” from Body Count’s new album, Bloodlust, which comes out March 31. You can also listen to the first single, “No Lives Matter,” here.
