Ho99o9’s “United States of Horror” is Pure, Political, Mutated Punk-Rap

Ho99o9, Los Angeles’ hybrid of rap and punk, are prepping for a big year. Hot off a European tour with The Dillinger Escape Plan and Primitive Weapons, the band is set to release their debut album The United States of Horror in May, with a full tour of those States to follow.

Led by theOGM (Jean) & Yeti Bones (Eaddy), Ho99o9 follows the path outlined by groups like clipping and Death Grips, who over the past few years have blurred the lines between cultures and genres. But Ho99o9’s music has a different edge, not only lyrically, but sonically. Where those other groups lean on more art-y abstraction, Ho99o9’s music is in-your-face and heavy on attack.

This is fully on display in the new video for the album’s heavy title track, a riff on movies like A Clockwork Orange and Network. Check it out below:
