Deftones Don’t Wanna Tour with Korn Again?

If you’re hoping Korn and the Deftones will one day tour together again for the ultimate ’90s nu-metal nostalgia fest, well, you may be shit outta luck. In a new interview with metal-heads.de, Korn guitarist Brian “Head” Welch says of his Sactown peers:

“When we see ’em, it’s, like, ‘Hey, bro, what’s going on?’ But we’re not close with ’em. They just like to do their own thing. We would like to tour with ’em again one day, but I don’t think they want to, so… But it’s all good. When we see ’em, we just don’t talk about touring. We’re just, ‘Hey, bro. How’s the family?’ Stuff like that.”

Head is clearly speculating, so it’s entirely possible his speculation is inaccurate; sometime within the next week, I’d wager some journalist will ask a member of Deftones if they’d be open to touring with Korn, and they’ll same something polite like “We’d love to, it’s not that simple, there’s booking agents and managers and lawyers to get involve, blah blah blah.” As much as I’d love it if Chino Moreno came out and was like “Fuck Korn, we want nothing to do with ’em!”, I don’t think that will happen.

In other news, Head apparently begins every conversation with the phrase “Hey bro.”
