Wintersun Have Crowdfunded Almost Half a Million Dollars

Did you think Wintersun’s stated goal of crowdfunding €750,000 to complete a new album and build a recording studio was insane? Think again.

As of today, the band has raised €428,310 — or approximately $456,328 — in the first of three scheduled fund-raising rounds. Wow.

Protest the Hero previously held the crowdfunding record for a metal band, raising over $340,000 back in 2013.

There’s a new package available called “The Forest Package” that has a ton of Wintersun shit in it in addition to the new album, The Forest Season, which is expected to come out this coming July.
