Take Tombs’ “Saturnalian” and Shove it Up Your Saturnalius

  • Axl Rosenberg

Today’s tidal wave of awesome new shit continues with a fresh Tombs song, “Saturnalian,” which has premiered on Terrorizer. Musically, it’s not that far off from the Tombs you know and love, but the band has forgone their usual, traditionalist (for black metal) screeching in favor of cleaner vocals. It works, especially given the song’s subject matter — there’s a cult priest quality to the singing — and I don’t think it will create any Suicide Silence fan-style conniption fits… but then I didn’t think Suicide Silence would cause any Suicide Silence fan-style conniption fits, so what do I know?

Check out the song for yourself below. It will appear on the band’s new album, The Grand Annihilation, which comes out June 16 on Metal Blade. Pre-order it here.
