Fan Says Danny Carey Says Tool Hope to Enter the Studio This Fall

Considering the source, you should probably take this with a grain of salt.  But this fan claims to have recently met Danny Carey, and to have snagged an update on the new Tool album in the process:

“I went to The Baked Potato tonight and caught the first set of the Doug Webb Allstars. During the break I was fortunate to talk with Danny, and I asked him how high Tool fans must be to think the band would be releasing a new album prior to this upcoming tour. He laughed and said, ‘They can believe whatever they want, but it’s not gonna happen.’ He added, and I’m condensing/paraphrasing here, that they hope to get into the studio to record in the Fall.”

Back in February, the webmaster of the band’s official site said that Maynard James Keenan had begun to work on vocals. But this makes it sound like the band is still finalizing all the writing and haven’t actually laid anything down yet and won’t until autumn. But again, this could all be bullshit, because who knows who this fan is, if he actually met Carey, if Carey actually says what the guy says he said, or if Carey was telling the truth. At this point, it feels like every “update” on the new Tool album just makes shit more confusing. My advice to the members of Tool?
