Metallica to Livestream Their Rehearsal Before the First Night of Their Summer Tour
Ever watched a band rehearse? It’s boring as fuck. Yes, even if the band is famous. It’s kinda interesting for like five minutes and then you wanna kill yourself. Which shouldn’t be that surprising — band rehearsals aren’t meant for viewing, after all. So there’s a lot of stopping and starting and playing the same thing over and over again, and if you’re not in the band, the experience is absolutely soporific.
Still, if you wanna see how the sausage gets made, this is certainly a rare opportunity to do so. From Metallica’s website:
“We’re coming down the home stretch before the North American WorldWired tour starts in Baltimore next week and we are beyond excited to see all of you out there on our first proper tour of this part of the world since 2009. To kick off the celebrations, we’re inviting you to get a sneak peek of what to expect this summer by checking out our rehearsal the night before the first show via the magic of streaming video on Facebook Live. In a little show very cleverly titled ‘Now That We’re Live’ we’ll bring rehearsals on Tuesday, May 9th live to your computer, tablet, mobile device or any other way you reach the internet at 9:00 PM EDT.
“Tune into Metallica.com or head over to our Facebook page to see a few songs and catch a glimpse of the all-new massive production hitting the road this summer. A few lucky Fifth Members will be able to experience it all in the flesh as we’re inviting Fan Club members to enter to win a chance to be in the house that night. Click here for more details.
“If you do decide to check it out, you’ll also be able to donate on Facebook Live to our All Within My Hands Foundation, which supports a cross-section of national, local and Bay Area charities that the individual band members support, as well as music education programs and local food banks.
“We’re just over a week away now and fired up!! See you out on the road!”
So, by all means, if you’re a massive fan who just cannot get enough Metallica, watch this. It might also be helpful for you young ‘uns who need tips on how to run band practice.
