The Dillinger Escape Plan Announce Their Final Farewell Show

DEP fans, you can now start making your travel plans to witness the band’s last show ever (or at least until the reunion). Metal Insider reports that the group’s farewell show will take place on Friday, December 29th at Manhattan’s Terminal 5. Support will come from Code Orange and Daughters.

Says frontman Greg Puciato about the show:

“For me, in terms of shows, New York has always been one city on a short list of them, where every Dillinger show felt like a homecoming. Maybe it’s the proximity to New Jersey, maybe because we’re all east coast natives, maybe for me it’s largely because it was the location of my first show with the band back in 2001, and maybe a lot of it is just the overall energy of the city itself. So many incredible shows, unforgettable memories on and offstage, and familiar faces both backstage and in the crowd. Add to that the fact that geographically its the one city that makes the most sense for anyone traveling from the east or west, or up the coast, and this was kind of a no brainer from the beginning.”

The last time I saw Dillinger play Terminal 5, they were opening for Mastodon, and they tore the place up. I can only imagine the kind of chaos they’ll cause at their final show. They’ll probably tear the place down. Remember, this is a band whose members basically risk their lives doing crazy and dangerous shit each and every performance. Can you imagine how much additional effort they’re gonna put into this concert, knowing it’s their last? If Ben Weinman finally paralyzes himself or Puciato sets the crowd on fire, no one should be surprised.

Tickets go on sale this Friday, August 11 at 10 a.m. EDT right here.
