Rob Scallon has released his latest banjo cover — this one of Slipknot’s “Psychosocial” — via the below video. The whole thing is quite droll, but you should make sure you stick around ’til the end when a certain vocalist cameos to answer the all-important question on every metal fan’s mind: “But what does Corey Taylor think?”

Pretty funny, right? So how did Scallon end up landing Taylor, anyway? Well, Scallon explains…

“This was filmed at the Channel Awesome office and wasn’t planned out. Corey & Griffin Taylor wanted to stop by to see the Nostalgia Critic set while on tour and we were all there to film a few things for that show. They were also so nice as to get us backstage passes to the Stone Sour show later that day at the Open Air Festival, which was an amazing time.

“We ended up filming a bit more then expected while at the office and I figured this could be an endscreen for any video in the future. The only premise I had was ‘Hey, come in, tell me that sucked and then maybe make a joke about 8 strings.’

“Tamara, actor on Nostalgia Critic as well as my better half, pointed out to me later that I should do a psychosocial cover. And what a perfect endscreen I’d have for it. Especially if we really go over the top with the video.”

Good thinking, Tamara!

Below, watch some behind-the-scenes footage, also featuring Taylor:
