GWAR Release New Song “El Presidente”

GWAR’s new song, “El Presidente,” is a whopper. I know that the gleefully tasteless lyrics are a big part of what make GWAR GWAR, I appreciate a good joke about fucking a nun as much as the next Bohab, and I certainly appreciate lyrics as bluntly anti-Trump as these… but seriously consider the music for a moment: “El Presidente” sounds like it was influenced in equal parts by Judas Priest, Megadeth, Swedish melodeath, and Broadway show tunes, and it’s all blended seamlessly into one awesomely catchy metal song. Also, DOZE HORNS. Fuck.

I guess what I’m saying is, sometimes the spectacle and humor for which GWAR are known overshadow their ability to actually make good music, and we should give ’em some credit. “El Presidente” is going to be stuck in your head for the next few hours, and not just any band can write something that irritatingly-good.

Pretty frigign’ great, right?
