Part of the super-duper extras included with the set are some live tracks, “many of which have never even been available in the collector or bootleg community and were pulled from our personal collections.” Our first taste of those comes today with the live staple “For Whom the Bell Tolls” performed at Hampton Coliseum in Hampton, VA on Aug. 3, 1986. A couple of fun facts about the performance: 1) roadie John Marshall (aka John Stack) filled in on rhythm guitar with Hetfield in a cast and unable to play after he “jumped off a skateboard at 50mph,” and 2) It’s one of the last known live recordings of Cliff Burton, who died just over a month later.

Check it out below. Get more details about the Master of Puppets deluxe set here, and order it here before its November 10th release.
