Crisis Averted: Obscura are Recording a New Album, Not Breaking Up

Last week, the tech-death gods in Obscura teased an upcoming statement via the use of hashtags such as #thefinal, #theend, and #theendiscoming. Understandably, this caused a whole lotta Obscura fans to freak out over the possibility that the band might be breaking up.

But they’re not breaking up! They’re just working on a new album! PHEW!

Bassist Linus Klausenitzer made the announcement via Facebook (skip to the one-minute mark), confirming that “the end” was a reference to the narrative the band began in Cosmogenesis, and not, thank Hanneman who art in Heaven, a reference to the conclusion of the band:

So that’s obviously good news, in addition to being a relief. Presumably, these means we’re getting a new Obscura album in 2018. Celebrate in the comments section below!
