Devin Townsend is Planning Four New Albums

0

It’s now been over a year since Devin Townsend released Transcendence, which in ordinary terms isn’t very long but in Devy world seems like an eternity: Mr. Casualty of Cool himself always has something in the works.

The singer and guitarist took to Twitter earlier this week to share what he’s working on at the moment, outlining plans for four albums in the near-to-mid future. Don’t worry, that $10 million symphony about dicks and vaginas (The Moth) is one of them. It seems that a Devin Townsend Project release called Empath will be the next album to reach our ears, with The Moth and two as-of-yet untitled albums to follow in some order.

I share in Devin’s oft-stated sentiment that his DTP work is less interesting than his more experimental endeavors, but I get it: to quote the man himself he’s got to “keep the boat floating” and “keep everyone’s salary paid.” And it’s not like anyone ever said “Man, that DTP album sure stinks!” It’ll be good.

More, of course, as we learn it.
