Turnstile Release New Song and Video “Real Thing”

Turnstile - Nonstop FeelingTurnstile’s Nonstop Feeling, released in 2015, was my #1 favorite record of that year. To say I’ve been eagerly anticipating its follow-up would be an understatement.

The band just released a brand new song called “Real Thing” and announced that a new, as of yet untitled record will be arriving via Roadrunner in winter of 2018.

The question is this: does it live up to the [my own self-created] hype, or is it more hardcore oriented, like the material on their 2016 Move Thru Me EP?

The answer seems to be “somewhere in between.” In a bizarre, ’90s style video that looks like it was shot in a back room for Blind Melon’s “No Rain” video, the band churns through a track that clocks in at just two minutes long (although the video is a smidge over three), cycling through a meaty riff over and over beneath Brendan Yates’ yelpy, Perry Farrell-esque vocals. I’m not quite sure yet whether I’m nonstop feeling it, to be honest: the verdict is still out!

Check it out below and see what you think. Turnstile go on tour with The Story So Far and Drug Church starting tomorrow; dates here.
