Video: Guy Covers Metallica’s “Hardwired” on Wine Glasses (Glass Harp)

0

From covers of metal songs on the sitar to covers of metal songs with hand farts, there really is no limit to the singular talents metalheads with access to a camera and a computer possess! The internet has finally evolved into the true wonder we all thought it would become some 20+ years ago, hand farts and all.

The latest “holy shit” talent to cross the forged iron desks of the MetalSucks Mansion is Gaurav Kotian, a musician who’s drawn attention for his skills at playing songs on wine glasses each filled with different amounts of liquid that emit specific tones, colloquially known as the glass harp. If you’ve ever wet your finger and run it around the rim of a wine glass, you know exactly what’s going on here… except this fella has taken a whole series of them — 27 glasses, as best as we can tell — and made an entire playable instrument!

His latest entry: a cover of Metallica’s “Hardwired,” the pseudo-title track off their latest album Hardwired… to Self-Destruct. What’s more, Kotian rips a guitar solo in the middle of it all. Hella impressive through and through.

Watch below, and be sure to follow/subscribe to Gaurav Kotian on Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram.
