Corelia Album to Finally Be Released Next Week?

This past June, I advised fans to give up on waiting for Corelia to ever release their crowdfunded, eagerly-anticipated full-length debut. Although the band raised upwards of $33,000 from fans in 2015, two-and-a-half years later, contributors had yet to receive the album, or any of the customary gifts awarded to crowdfunders. Fans were understandably pissed, and the situation was so bad that Outerloop Management (Periphery, Darkest Hour, Toothgrinder, etc.) stopped working with the band.

But here we are, six months later, and someone is once again stoking the fires of Corelia fans’ hope.

Take this with the world’s biggest grain of salt for now, but according to some dude from Reddit, the album will be finally be released this coming Thursday, January 11:

“Hi guys. Longtime friend of the band here. Didn’t have an account, so I registered just to make this announcement. The release was initially going to be a surprise, but they’ve begun the process of slowing letting the word out. There should be an official announcement on facebook.

“I’ve had a chance to listen the album and it sounds INCREDIBLE. I know there has been a lot of controversy about Corelia’s decision to stay off social media. To be honest, I haven’t been the biggest proponent of their methods and I’ve expressed this. But at the end of the day, I am not in the band and it’s not up to me. Anyways, cheers everyone!”

It would be nice if this story had a semi-happy ending (I mean, I still can’t imagine Corelia’s career isn’t totally fucked, or that any admirer will ever give them money for anything ever again), but I’ll believe it when I’m sitting in my living room listening to the record. Until then, you’ll understand if I’m skeptical.

Corelia release date: 1/11/18 (x-post /r/corelia) from Djent
