Rumor: KISS Plotting Farewell Tour

Looks like Slayer isn’t the only prominent band that really ended years ago but will pretend to end now. From Blabbermouth:

“On February 8, Kiss Catalog Ltd., the owner of the intellectual property rights pertaining to the legendary rock group KISS, filed an application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for the word mark ‘The End Of The Road.’ If granted, the registration will protect the use of the standard character mark of ‘The End Of The Road’ for entertainment services, specifically ‘live performances by a musical band.’

“Word of the application has led to speculation among KISS fans that the band could be preparing to embark on its final tour.”

The band actually embarked on a farewell tour in the early aughts, after they’d reunited with Ace Frehley and Peter Criss, but then they realized they could put any two assholes in those dudes’ make-up and fans would still eat it up, so they kept going. If they’re thinking of finally calling it quits for really reals now, something must be wrong. I bet Gene Simmons was like “The day has finally come when I can’t say or do anything I like to women, so it’s time to pack it in.” Either that or Paul Stanley wants to realize his dream of being a merkin before he dies. I’d buy either excuse.
