Watch: 13-Year-Old South Korean Guitarist SHREDS at Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony

The Winter Olympics are way more interesting than the summer ones, IMO — running and swimming are BORING, I wanna see snowboarding and luge and curling and ski jumps and all that fun stuff! You also get things like an ice skating routine to AC/DC and this, a 13-year-old South Korean guitar prodigy shredding at center ice during the games’ closing ceremony. Show me a fucking shot put routine to KISS and I’ll gladly eat my words.

Yang Tae-Hwan is already quite the accomplished musician in his native South Korea. He’s been cranking out YouTube guitar covers since 2013 and came into the national spotlight on the South Korean TV talent show Star King. His cover of Dream Theater’s “The Best of Times” — recorded as a ten-year-old! — has garnered over 200,000 views.

Sunday night’s Olympics closing ceremony saw him take the jump into the international spotlight, playing a section of the “Winter” portion of Vivaldi’s famous “Four Seasons” with an orchestra and backing dancers. A full clip of the performance doesn’t seem to be anywhere online, but you can watch a thirty-second clip via NBC’s Olympics Twitter account below.

Shred on, dude! Stay in school then come tour America after you graduate, ya hear?
