Necrophagia Vocalist Frank “Killjoy” Pucci Has Died at Just 48 Years Old
Necrophagia announced this morning via Facebook that vocalist and founder Frank “Killjoy” Pucci has passed away. No cause of death has been revealed. He was only 48 years old.
The band’s statement reads in full:
“We are so shocked and saddened to bring you the news of our dear brother Killjoy passing away this morning. We are at a loss for words. R.I.P brother you are forever in our hearts. We will cherish our moments together forever.
“Frank (Killjoy) Pucci 1969-2018
“Serge, Shawn, Jake”
Necrophagia formed in 1983 and split up in 1987 after releasing just one full-length album (and a second posthumously in 1990). Encyclopedia Metallum credits their reunion 11 years later to Phil Anselmo, who wrote all the songs on 1998’s Holocausto de la Morte and played guitar. The band would release four more records, the latest of which, WhiteWorm Cathedral, came out in 2014.
On behalf of everyone at MetalSucks, we wish Frank’s family, friends and bandmates all the best.
