Listen to the New Single “Domesticate Me” from Noise Rock Newcomers DADThe past fews years have given us several great new one-name noise rock bands. Whores, Wrong, Pigs, Rhin, etc. and Brooklyn’s Dad is clawing their way into the fold with their single out today, “Domesticate Me.”

The song, recorded and mixed last year at Mollusk Studios in Brooklyn, launches with familiar but not tired riffs that would be right at home on any Amphetamine Reptile release from their golden years. Lyrical subject matter addresses the mundanity of daily tasks but delivered with the genre’s commitment to the specific rage of testosterone-fueled seething rage. “Don’t forget to take out the trash / And refundables / Send them back” seem like the innocuous request of a partner or roommate or even parent, but when the chorus hits with “Domesticate Me / All my friends hate me,” the anger issues really hit their stride in a bottom-heavy thrashing panic.

The video, a composite mining of vintage stock footage and a grimy black and white practice space performance, fits perfectly with the neatly contained wrath of the two-minute banger. Check it out below, and head over to Dad’s Bandcamp page to grab the single and find out more about the LP release later this year or visit their official website.
