Maylene and the Sons of Disaster’s Dallas Taylor Offers Health Update from 2016 ATV Accident

Maylene and the Sons of Disaster frontman Dallas Taylor was in an ATV accident in August of 2016 that left him with life-changing injuries, including the complete loss of sight in his left eye, blurred vision is his right, lung problems, teeth issues, short-term memory loss and all sorts of pain. Dallas’s road to recovery has been long and deliberate, and the singer still suffers from a number of serious ailments related to the accident, occasionally offering updates to his fans.

Taylor posted a video update on Facebook a few days back with some news about his current condition. He recently underwent successful surgery on his right (good) eye to help correct his field of vision, and he’s in line for an experimental neurological treatment that could help alleviate some of the other issues he’s having (but not for at least a year). The good news ends there, though: new issues have cropped up including thyroid problems, complete lack of energy, increased short and long-term memory loss, disappearance of sex drive, trouble determining whether he’s hungry or full and difficulty regulating body temperature.

The second half of the video takes a markedly different tone, with Taylor expressing shock and gratitude he’s still even alive before thanking his fans for all the support and his religious faith for guiding him through. It’s amazing a man in such shape can retain such a positive outlook, but that speaks to the power and determination Taylor has to push through.

You can watch Taylor’s video message below. A GoFundMe page has been set up for those wishing to contribute to Dallas’s medical fund.
