You Should Be Arriving Early to Sevendust’s Current Tour to See Madame Mayhem

0

When Sevendust announced their current tour, one name amongst the support acts stood out to me: New York City’s Madame Mayhem, who has carved out a niche for herself as a rising star in the world of hard rock.

Mayhem’s connections to Sevendust run deep: Clint Lowery co-wrote and played guitar on one track on her latest album, Ready For Me, and his brother Corey — who played bass in Dark New Day, Stuck Mojo, Stereomud and Eye Empire, and currently holds it down in Saint Asonia — produced the whole record. You’ll hear that influence all over Ready For Me — it’s just a certain sound with a rare complexity for hard rock that you’ll recognize if you’ve followed the Lowery brothers’ careers — but it’s Mayhem’s powerful voice and keen sense of melody that do the heavy lifting, making for an album full of memorable bangers front to back. Hard rock albums that catch my ear these days are few and far between, but Ready For Me did that and then some: it was easily my favorite hard rock release of 2017.

What I’m saying is this: if you’re a Sevendust fan and you’re attending one of these shows, make certain you arrive early for Madame Mayhem! I’ve yet to see her live (odd, given we live in the same friggin’ city, and that will remain the case even on this tour), but I hear that her band is the bees’ knees too.

Jam a couple of Madame Mayhem’s tracks below, and get remaining tour dates with Sevendust (along with Memphis May Fire and Fire From the Gods) underneath those.
