Get Your Daily Brutal Death Metal Fix with Lago’s “A Broken Barrier”
Things sure bode well for Sea of Duress, the forthcoming album from Arizona death metal wreckers Lago. The album’s first single, “Soiled is the Crown” — which we premiered right here earlier this month — was a devastatingly bludgeoning (as if there’s any other kind of bludgeoning) blast of brutality, with just the right amount of mid-era Morbid Angel worship and skronky atmospheric elements mixed together for a distinct brew of modern DM. And here we are with another new track from the album via Invisible Oranges, “A Broken Barrier,” that delivers more of the same! At over five minutes long you might wonder whether this track can keep your attention the whole time, but my guess is that you’ll be too busy air-drumming on the steering wheel in your car or tapping along on your leg to even think to stop and notice.
Sea of Duress comes out June 8th via Unique Leader; pre-order here. Catch Lago live:
6/1 Seattle, WA @ Northwest Terror Fest
6/8 Mesa, AZ @ Club Red (album release show)
