Chris Adler Sitting Out Upcoming Lamb of God Dates with Slayer; Temporary Replacement Announced

If you’re going to see Lamb of God play support for Slayer on their currently-in-progress farewell tour, you may notice a key member missing from the band: drummer Chris Adler. Is he sitting out the tour in protest of Dave Lombardo’s absence? Alas, a statement from the band makes it sound as though he’s likely dealing with a somewhat more serious issue:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we regret to inform you that Chris Adler will not be performing on our upcoming North American tour with Slayer. In his absence, we would like to welcome Art Cruz, who will be filling in at the recommendation of Chris. We expect to see Chris returning in the very near future. We will see you all on the road soon.”

Hopefully everything is okay for Mr. Adler. Sending out good vibes!

In the meantime, if Art Cruz’s name seems familiar, that’s likely because of his work with Winds of Plague and/or Prong. And, hey, maybe you don’t like one or both of those bands — Hanneman knows I’d be fine if someone made a time machine and went back in time and stopped Winds of Plague from ever happening — but if he comes with Adler’s seal of approval, he must be good. So. Yeah. Let’s all just give ‘im a chance, k?
