Here’s the Lineup for the Inaugural U.S. Prophecy Fest

Two summers ago I had the extreme privilege of attending Prophecy Fest, a two-day metal festival that takes place inside an ancient cave in a rural section of western Germany that features bands on the German record label Prophecy Productions and a few related acts. That description likely sounds too epic to be true — a metal festival inside a fucking cave?? what about all that noise bouncing off the walls? — but it remains one of the most special festival-going experiences of my life (and the sound was perfect). Here’s what it looks like from the outside:

Here’s the Lineup for the Inaugural U.S. Prophecy Fest

Together with an announcement that Prophecy Productions has launched a U.S. office (based in Los Angeles), the label has announced the inaugural U.S. edition of Prophecy Fest (there was no event in Germany this year). The event will take place over the course of two days, November 2nd and 3rd, at the Knitting Factory in Brooklyn, NY. Here’s the lineup, which once again features a fine selection of acts on the label “and friends:”

Alcest (playing Kodama in full)
Eye of Nix (playing Black Somnia in full)
Volur
Xasthur
Kayo Dot
November’s Doom
Year of the Cobra
Crowhurst
1476
So Hideous

Tickets are only $60 for both days, and are on sale now. I will absolutely be in attendance — see you there!
