Tom Morello Shares New Track “Rabbit’s Revenge” Featuring Bassnectar, Big Boi, and Killer Mike

When I heard Tom Morello was putting out a solo album featuring a ton of guest musicians, I was a little skeptical. It’s not that I don’t trust Morello to put out good music–his album as the Nightwatchman was actually decent. It’s just that what drew me to Rage Against The Machine in the first place was its vitriolic, confrontational sense of social consciousness. I was worried that as a solo guitarist, Morello might not approach his music with the same vigor.

But man, Morello has just released a new track and video called “Rabbit’s Revenge”, featuring Bassnectar, Big Boi, and Killer Mike…and damn, it is straightforward in its anger. The lyrics are about the racism apparent in the police shootings of unarmed black men that has shocked the nation of late, and the video features the names and lifespans on several of these victims of police brutality.

So, Tom, sorry I doubted you. I should’ve figured that the dude who described Trump and his cabinet as Nazis and Klansmen who have simply “taken off the hoods in the Oval Office.”

Meanwhile, if the track sounds familiar, it’s because it’s been featured in the latest TV spot for The Predator, Shane Black’s upcoming new entry in the Predator franchise. You can take a look at the commercil below.

Listen to “Rabbit’s Revenge” below. The video for the track is available exclusively through Apple Music, and can be watched here. Tom Morello’s The Atlas Underground drops October 12th; pre-order it here.
