The metal world is still mourning the death of Huntress frontwoman Jill Janus, who took her own life last week at the age of 43.

While various well-known metal musicians shared their tributes to and memories of Jill online, all fans of the band are invited to do so together in person at a public memorial this coming Friday, August 24th, at the Rainbow Bar & Grill in Los Angeles starting at 9pm. The band has created a Facebook event page for the memorial with a note that reads as follows:

“Since Jill’s departure, the amount of outreach and support from friends, fans and family has been absolutely incredible. It has been beyond heavy to see so many reminders of how she could be so talented and loved yet could feel so much pain and loneliness. Let’s get together and celebrate her life and the importance that we still have each other. Expect a lot of whiskey and grown men crying.

“Thank you Rafael & Roberto Mattey for the amazing artwork.”

On behalf of the [New York-based] MetalSucks crew, we hope all our L.A. friends can make it out to what will undoubtedly be a very emotional night.

In case you missed it, we posted a posthumous interview with Jill Janus on The MetalSucks Podcast that had previously been unpublished; listen here.
