Earlier this year, I compared my first impression of Florida’s Fiends to what it might sound like if Tool and Lamb of God decided to do a modern prog crossover. Though some of you disagreed, I firmly stand by my statement after hearing the full album, Me Time.

The ease with which Fiends are able to flow between driving grooves and melodic sensitivity is amazingly satisfying. While a good chunk of the album is rife with unhinged aggression, the moments of tranquility and reflection are what makes the music really shine.  “Fiends is the product of four lifelong friends with a penchant for making heavy, brutally honest, passionate, emotional music with no holds barred.
