The Secret are Back and Bleaker Than Ever

Italy’s finest blackened doom outfit The Secret have been hiding away from putting out any new material since their 2012 release Agnus Dei, but they’ve come out of their hiatus in full force with a new three-song EP, Lux Tenebris.

If ya dig agonizing, crusty, furious soundscapes with plenty of ripping animosity along the lines of Primitive Man or Dragged Into Sunlight, you’ll definitely be a fan of Lux Tenebris, which builds off the frantic hardcore sounds of The Secret’s previous works and gives them a big nudge up on the doom-o-meter. If you don’t dig those things, well, sorry. Sometimes I forget that not everyone likes having rusty nails pounded into their eardrums for fun.
