Cult Leader Get Sentimental on New Single “To: Achlys”

0

The last thing I would have expected from Cult Leader’s new album was a sappy, heartfelt ode to lost love, but lo and behold: the Salt Lake City chaos lords’ new single “To: Achlys” is all of those things and more. The slow, contemplative track taps into the band’s more emotional side, with vocalist Anthony Lucaro elaborating further on what it means to the group:

“Achlys is the personification of sorrow, a primordial Goddess who has been on my mind since before Lightless Walk was released. This song addresses her directly and it allows us to explore what it means to play ‘heavy music.’ The video is simply something I felt the need to make. It’s a further expression of the visual side of our band.”

A creepy-as-fuck music video accompanies the track to make sure you’re extra uncomfortable, so brace yourself for psychological wreckage and check it out below.

A Patient Man will be out November 5th; pre-order from Deathwish. Cult Leader will be touring in support of the album throughout November and December — get tickets here.
