King 810 Announce New Album, Release New Song

King 810 have announced a January 25, 2019 release date for their latest act of misguided machismo, Suicide King. There are a couple of things which are interesting/stupid about this announcement.

For one thing, although the band had previously been signed to Roadrunner, Suicide King will be self-released. No idea what happened there, but I’d like to congratulate everyone at Roadrunner on not having to pretend to give a shit about this band anymore.

For another thing, King 810 frontman David Gunn says “Heartbeats,” that the album’s first single, “is what your favorite band’s favorite band sounds like.” Which is, uh, like, total nonsense? Whomever your favorite band is — Metallica, Slipknot, Pig Destroyer, Gojira, fucking Five Finger Death Punch — I would put money on their favorite band sounding nothing like this. In fact, I think Gunn’s quote probably only applies if your favorite band is a King 810 cover band. Is anyone’s favorite band a King 810 cover band? Show of hands?

You can listen to “Heartbeats” below and laugh at the thought of Tony Iommi and Kerry King and King Diamond and Fenriz and all your other favorite musicians attempting to enjoy this drek.

Sorry, that’s wrong. Here’s the song for really reals:
