Any time Primitive Man release a new song it’s guaranteed to be the heaviest thing you hear that day. Such is most certainly the case with “Oily Tears,” which came out Wednesday via Revolver but we’re just posting here today because we wanted to make sure it was the heaviest thing you heard on two days. I’m not going to spend too much time explaining what the track sounds like, because a) I hope you are already familiar with this band, and b) if not, just press play and let the music do the talking. But I will add that I’m especially fond of the press release copy that tags it as a “primal death opus.” Fuck yeah, ain’t that right.

The track comes from a forthcoming split LP between Primitive Man and Salem, OR doom crew Hell. The latter are new to me, but if they’re associated with Primitive Man I’m automatically interested. Also, how has no one ever used that band name before? Pre-order the split here via Translation Loss; it comes out on February 22nd, 2019.
