Stephen Brodksy (Cave In) Officially Joins Old Man Gloom

0

Stephen Brodsky has been one of a handful of musicians stepping in for Caleb Scofield in Old Man Gloom at a series of shows celebrating the latter’s tragic and untimely death earlier this year. Given Brodsky and Scofield’s long, shared history together in Cave In, it makes perfect sense that OMG would tap Brodsky to permanently fill that role going forward. And according to a couple of Facebook posts over the weekend, that’s exactly what’s happening: it looks as if Brodsky has joined Aaron Turner, Nate Newton and Santos Montano in the studio for the writing and/or recording sessions of the band’s next album.

I can think of no better person to fill Caleb’s role than Brodsky. Aside from the duo’s history together — Caleb’s legacy will undoubtedly show itself in Brodsky’s bass playing — he’s an absolutely stellar musician and total class act. Very excited to hear new music whenever it lands!
