Slipknot to Tour the U.S. in 2019

UPDATE, 4:27pm EST: It has now been confirmed that Slipknot will tour with Volbeat, Behemoth and Gojira. More info here.

Original Post:

With Slipknot currently in the studio working on a new album and a European tour slated for the summer, fans have been wondering when The Only Metal Band That Matters Besides Metallica™ will hit the road in the U.S.

The band has remained mum on the issue, but a recent announcement by national concert promoter Live Nation indicates that a full-fledged Slipknot tour of the U.S. will indeed happen this year and lists out several cities and venues the band will play (at the bottom of this post).

Live Nation has unveiled details for its “Ticket to Rock” program, which allows fans to buy package deals to multiple hard rock and metal shows at discounted prices, and Slipknot were included on the list of eligible bands. The announcement came yesterday, February 8th, and reads as follows:

“Today Live Nation unveiled details for the 2019 Ticket to Rock– one ticket that gets fans in to some of the hottest rock shows all summer long. Artists included in this year’s package are: Alice in Chains, Breaking Benjamin, Behemoth, Chevelle, Gojira, Korn, Slipknot, Underoath, Volbeat & more. Full lineups and dates for the participating tours to be announced soon. In select cities, Shinedown and Slayer will also be a part of the package.

“Ticket to Rock makes it easier than ever for fans to get tickets to see some of their most anticipated rock bands live at an amphitheater near them this summer. The 3 show packages start at just $59 and 4 show packages in select cities that include Shinedown or Slayer start at $69. Ticket packages will go on sale beginning today at 12pm local time at LiveNation.com.”

It’s a bit strange that Live Nation would make put this program up for sale without the exact dates of the shows being public, but I suppose such is the faith in this program, and the bands in it, that folks will want to get a jump on securing tickets for these shows. It’s worth noting that Slipknot aren’t the only band included for whom tour dates haven’t been announced yet.

The list of venues participating in the program is posted below. While it may not be a complete list of all the venues Slipknot (or any of the above mentioned bands) will be playing later this year, if your city is on the list you can rest easy knowing that they’ll be coming to town soonish. The only question is exactly when.

You can purchase your Ticket to Rock package here if you’re willing to gamble you’ll be in town when Slipknot roll through.
