Rapper Denzel Curry’s Cover of Rage Against the Machine’s “Bulls on Parade” Goes HARD

0

I wasn’t familiar with rapper Denzel Curry until seeing his new cover video of Rage Against the Machine’s “Bulls on Parade,” but I won’t be forgetting him any time soon. His delivery on the track is absolutely explosive, and I got chills the moment his voice kicked in and at several other moments throughout — real, spine-tingling, hair-raising chills. How refreshing to hear a new, young voice on this track, which is just as poignant today as it was 25 years ago?

The track was recorded as part of triple j’s Like a Version cover series. Australian multi-instrumentalist Harts takes Tom Morello’s role in this one, doing an admirable job of nailing those riffs. But the spotlight, of course, belongs to Curry, who even adds in a freestyle verse mid-song about Donald Trump and, with his unstoppable energy and full-throated screams, would make the consummate metal frontman if he ever decides he wants to be one. FUCK. YES.
