Listen to Amon Amarth’s New Song “Raven’s Flight” Right Now!

After dropping some heavy-handed teases over the past 24 hours, Swedish viking princes Amon Amarth dropped a new track called “Raven’s Flight” at midnight tonight (Wednesday, March 20th). As many have speculated, the band’s forthcoming album will be called Berserker, which is so perfect an Amon Amarth album title that it’s difficult to believe they haven’t already used it.

I’m listening to “Raven’s Flight” for the first time right now along with you all, but the early returns indicate it sounds just like an Amon Amarth song: bombastic, epic, twin guitar leads, a galloping rhythm, distinctly Swedish, some lines about “distant shores” (lyrics here)… ya know, Amon Amarth! No major departures here.

Berserker will come out on May 3rd via Metal Blade and will presumably be available for pre-order here starting at some point in the next 24 hours (although it’s not posted as of the filing of this article). Horns up.
