Pig Destroyer’s New Bassist Is…

…Travis Stone, former guitarist for Noisem and ongoing guitarist for Lody Kong (the band started by Max Cavalera’s sons, Igor Jr. and Zyon Cavalera).

Mr. Stone made his debut with the band yesterday, when he appeared in a promo photo (above) accompanying the press release for the band’s new song, “Cameraman.” The release didn’t name Stone or even acknowledge the absence of John Jarvis, who has been Pig Destroyer’s bassist since 2013. John confirmed to us that he and the band have parted ways, and the group’s label, Relapse, told us an official announcement would be made today. In the meantime, eagle-eyed MS reader Jeremy C. recognized Stone from his picture.

As of this writing, Pig Destroyer still haven’t released a statement… but Stone is already listed on their Metal Archives page. I’m not saying that makes it officially official, but I know some people take that shit way seriously, so. There ya have it.

We’ll let you know when the band makes a statement. In the meantime, if you haven’t listened to “Cameraman” yet… what the heck are you waiting for???
